Description
Saint Joseph Hospital – Lexington, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a full-time Physicist for its Radiation Oncology department in Lexington, Kentucky. The position is scheduled for 80 hours per pay period on the day shift and supports clinical radiation therapy through equipment commissioning, quality assurance, radiation measurement, calibration, and treatment-system maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform acceptance testing and commissioning of new radiation oncology equipment.
- Develop and maintain quality-assurance programs for treatment modalities, localization procedures, and computational systems.
- Maintain instrumentation used for radiation-source calibration, radiation measurement, and dose calibration.
- Support accurate delivery of prescribed radiation doses through clinical physics quality-control activities.
- Perform first-order maintenance of treatment units in collaboration with equipment service technicians.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Medical Physics is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Physics or an equivalent field is also required.
