Description
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a full-time, onsite Therapeutic Medical Physicist for an open-rank PhD faculty position in the Department of Radiation Physics in Houston, Texas. The position primarily supports external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy at MD Anderson’s main campus while also contributing to research and education.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical medical physics support for external beam and brachytherapy treatments.
- Participate in specialized procedures that may include 4DCT, SRS, SBRT, IORT, and PDR or HDR gynecological treatments.
- Perform quality assurance activities for external-beam treatment machines, CT simulators, and HDR/PDR equipment.
- Participate in special clinical projects and other departmental assignments.
- Contribute to research programs and educational activities for graduate students and trainees.
Qualifications
- PhD in Medical Physics or Physics is required.
- ABR certification must be completed or in progress.
- Graduation from a residency program is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills are required.
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Compensation and Benefits
The position has a target base salary of $180,600 to $273,400 and is also eligible for incentive compensation. MD Anderson states that eligible benefits include health and wellness programs, paid time off, savings and retirement benefits, and relocation support as applicable.
