Description
Lehigh Valley Health Network is hiring a full-time Radiation Physicist II to support Radiation Oncology at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This position provides clinical physics support across treatment planning, quality assurance, equipment implementation, clinical procedures, and staff education. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and patient-specific quality assurance, radiation therapy equipment calibration, and related documentation.
- Participate in acceptance, commissioning, and clinical implementation of new equipment and software.
- Support equipment maintenance and verify appropriate operation before equipment returns to clinical use.
- Oversee and participate in radiation treatment planning in collaboration with physicians, dosimetrists, and other clinical staff.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures governing the safe and appropriate use of radiation.
- Support clinical treatment procedures and provide training on radiation oncology technology, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Medical Physics or an equivalent field is required.
- At least two years of clinical experience is required.
- Candidates must have expertise in radiation physics and its medical applications, including radiation therapy treatment planning, equipment operation, and radiation protection requirements.
- ABR certification or ABMP certification is required upon hire.
